didntknowyoucanread whispered, "i thought avatars are reincarnated so how could aang have a child and live?"

Being reincarnated means to be born again in another life form. Aang’s child isn’t the new avatar. After Aang dies, is when a new avatar will be born, in this case, Korra! (:

(This probably isn’t the best explanation of it, so maybe some of my followers can reply and help?)

  2. guns-and-drums said: Reincarnation is the spirit being born into a new human form after death. It isn’t hereditary - so neither is Avatar status. Aang’s spirit and spirit of past Avatars are one. And when the mortal body dies, the Avatar spirit is born into a new human.
